How natural are Le Lapin’s products?
We like to think we’re one of the most natural companies.
We use only the finest natural, plant-based ingredients, sourced responsibly and sustainably.
We use only whole plant ingredients, rather than those that have been fractionated.
Only natural emulsifiers are used in our formulas.
We use only plant-based preservatives for their natural preservative abilities.
Wherever possible, our ingredients are organic or wild crafted.
Are Le Lapin’s products ever tested on animals?
No! Our products are never tested on animals and are cruelty free. The very idea of animal testing is nauseating.
Are Le Lapin’s products preservative free?
No. Despite wishing it could be otherwise, even natural skincare must be preserved, to ensure the freshness of the product and to prevent bacteria and mould from forming. However, we use only the most natural preservatives available on the market today.
Le Lapin’s shampoos are expensive. What makes them different?
Our shampoos are different. Initially, if you are coming off commercial shampoos, the bottle will probably empty at the same rate as your old brand, but once you’ve established your no poo routine, one bottle of Le Lapin shampoo should last 6-12 months.
In addition to this, unlike with conventional products where you need to buy both shampoo and conditioner, essentially doubling the cost, Le Lapin’s products combine the two, meaning you have just the one bottle.
But I have very long hair. Won’t I go through shampoo faster than people with shorter hair?
Shampoo should only be applied to the scalp, allowing the flow of water to take it down the length when you rinse. The reason for this is because it’s the scalp that produces oil, and it’s on your scalp that most dirt and gunk collects.
(In fact, even commercial shampoos need only be applied to your scalp. Shampooing the length of your hair is very drying, and can lead to split ends.)
This means no matter how much hair you have, we should all go through roughly the same amount of shampoo.
If Le Lapin is so natural, why are there ingredients listed that sound like chemicals?
The names of ingredients can be tricky sometimes. Some sound like chemicals that would be bad for you, but are actually perfectly safe — sometimes they’re even beneficial.
At Le Lapin, we avoid adding any ingredient unless it’s either beneficial or absolutely necessary to the formulation. We don’t believe in cheap fillers, but we add things like natural preservatives to ensure our products are safe.
Every single ingredient is listed both on product labels, as well as online. We also have the entire list of ingredients, along with descriptions, available for your reference.
